Heritage Night was also a great success. We had presentations from Elder Josie and Chief Aaron, followed by drumming and singing with Jonathan Augustine, Karen Francis and Natasha Sock. Rylan Sock and Madisson Milliea performed dance routines and Holly Jane Sock sang Ninen Na Migematjiitjg.

Culture Night has been postponed due to the weather forecast and will be held Wednesday, March 2nd at 4:00 pm. Come see the projects students have been working on in preparation for this evening of MicMac Culture.
On January 22nd, middle school students were invited to watch an Atlantic Universities hockey game between home team University of Moncton and St. FX. Elsipogtog First Nation is represented by Robbie Graham for the Blue Eagles and Trey Lewis for the X-Men. Our students received a tour of the training facility, dressing room as well as participate in on ice activities, not to mention enjoying an entertaining hockey game. Wednesday, January 27th is Family Literacy Day. On that day, we want to encourage parents to take the time to participate in a family Literacy activity for at least 15 minutes.Canada encourages families to have “15 Minutes of Fun” learning together every day. Engaging in literacy activities as a family improves a child’s skills and also helps adults keep their skills sharp.Students will be taking home a ballot to fill out for a chance to win one of 5 Chapter’s Gift Certificates, valued at $20. Ballots must be returned on or before Friday, January 29th.
