On Friday,December 11th ,Grade 2 A had a celebration of their writing.The students shared their stories about how they decorate their trees at Christmas.The children are very proud of their work as is Ms.Sock and Mrs.Redmond.
On the evening of Wednesday,November 18th ,Elsipogtog School hosted its annual Literacy Night.The theme was Roll Out the Red Carpet to Reading .Approximately 120 students and parents attended the event, that featured 12 different stories ,read by staff members.Hot Chocolate and popcorn were enjoyed by all ,during the final story of the night. Several prizes of books were drawn for throughout the night.The winner of the Grand Prize Family Literacy basket was Nathan Levy. Elsipogtog School had a special guest today at our Dream Catcher Awards. Madison Milliea came and performed for our school, here is her story; Hi, my name is Madison Milliea. I am 7 years old in grade 3 at the Soleil Levant School in Richibucto. I can speak French, English and Micmac. I started dancing when I was 3 years old. My mitata would bring me to pow wows. I dance fancy shawl. We look like butterflies when we dance. My dress and shawl are called a regalia, it is not called a costume. When I dance, I dance for the spirits and for the people that are sick.
Nancy Boucher, Assistant Deputy Minister of Education, Province of New Brunswick, will be at Elsipogtog School, Tuesday, October 27 at 2:30. She will be making a presentation on the provinces 10 year Education Plan for Community Engagement in Education to School Staff and Parents. On Wednesday October 28th, the grade 6 classes will be holding a P.J. fundraiser. It costs $1 to wear your PJ's and money raised will help Emma Francis fulfill her dream to travel to Florida to SEE Disney World.
Last Friday we held our first Elsipogtog School Bingo Fund Raiser of the year. We raised a total of $2335.00. Congrats to the class who sold the most bingo cards: 1st place - KA - Tanya, 2nd place - Nursery, and 3rd place - 3A - Lindsay.
